[Eid Mubarak Reality Check]

“I know this is a joyous time for us, and we should all be celebrating, but i just don’t want people to forget about what is going on back home. I don’t want people to forget the babies that are dying in Somalia, i don’t want people to forget about the houses, and the families that are getting bombed in Falasteen, I don’t want people to forget about the torture that’s going on in Syria, and Lebanon. Where ever you are looking at, there are people who have it so much worse than us, but we’re too busy worrying about our own little, miniscule problems, that we fail to see the bigger picture. I know there have been times where i have been so mad and so flustered that something during my day didn’t go according to plan. But then i sit back and i look at the babies who don’t have a bite to eat, who look at the babies who don’t have a mother to love them, who look at the babies with their heads decapetated on the floor and nobody to pick up their remains and bury them. I know you don’t wanna hear about this stuff, and i know you just want me to make you laugh, but i feel like this stuff deserves to be talked about. We have everything in this world. You are watching this through a computer, you are watching this on your iPhone, you are wearing clothes, you have a roof ontop of you, you have food on the table.. so why the hell do we take these things for granted? And i know we do our parts, and we give our hundred dollars of donations, and what ever after Eid, but think about all the other money you’re collecting, think about what that hundred dollars is doing for the millions of people back home, and i know a lot of people choose to say that “Oh i’m blessed, i don’t have to worry about that, i’m not in their situation.”- but you do. Because these are your brothers, these are your sisters, and i’m not just talking about the Muslim countries. I’m talking about world wide. Us as a man-kind in humanity really need to stand up together and fight for what’s right and speak for what’s right. I’m sorry if i’m not letting the government subject me into what to think, and believe, and feel. I’m more of a person than that, there’s much more to me, there’s layers behind this. I’m not trying to put a damper on your moods, but i feel that everybody just needs that reality check, because i know me personally for so many years, i didn’t have that. And i was busy camping outside shoe stores for the newest pair of Jordan, i was too busy watching Jersey Shore, and seeing Ronnie, Sammi, Pauly, and who ever else the hell is on that show is busy sleeping with who ever they were getting drunk with that night. It’s sickening, that’s brainwash, I’m living in a place where third graders have cell phones, third graders have iPhones, they’re busy on Facebook and Twitter and Tumblr. They don’t even KNOW who Gaddafi is, yet if you ask them who Snooki is, they will give you her whole life story. And that’s bull, complete and utter bull. And i don’t stand for that, I’m sick of all of that, cut that bull crap. I’m sorry if i’m speaking for what’s relevant in this world.”
